These Are A Few of My Favorite Things in 2015: #AMonthofFaves Post

If you’ve been following along at home, December is A Month of Faves and today’s theme is Favorite Things of 2015. It was a busy year for me. I had a job, left a job (contract ended), got a new car, and took a trip. It’s been fun to look back on it all through these posts.

Here are some of the things I enjoyed most about 2015.

Activity: Snowshoeing snowshoeing
I’ve started snowshoeing last year, but I made it more of a regular activity this year. I wrote about it more in this post It’s a great way to be active it the snow.

Food: Lemon Chicken Stew lemon chicken stew
I found the recipe for Lemon Chicken Stew on Pinterest. It’s so good!

Event: Ribfest! IMG_0728
Sorry, vegetarians! Our town had our first Ribfest this year and it was a success.

Drink: Red wineIMG_1925
I made an effort to give red wine a try. Some were better than others. I think it’s a matter of finding the right one. I am now a red wine drinker.

Another Drink: Pumpkin Chai TeaIMG_1926
For all you PSL lovers out there! Pumpkin Chai Tea from Davids Tea is so good! Try a chai tea latte instead of a PSL. A nice twist on a seasonal favorite.

I was so excited to see this new library for the first time. I wrote about my visit for Book Bloggers International.

Wear: Puma Running ShoeIMG_2498
I spent a lot of time looking for new running shoes. I’m very picky about them. They have to be light and flexible. All I could find were big clunky shoes. No good. I finally spied these Pumas earlier this year. I’m very impressed with them.

Visit: Cayo Santa Maria, Cuba IMG_1735
Probably the best part of my year was travelling with family to Cuba. The beach was amazing.

Those were some of my favorite things in 2015. What were yours?

  1. Woohoo red wine! I have no wine knowledge but I like trying the different ones and see what works. A good one Ive had recently is Shine, it's a sweet red. It's German.

  2. Oh man, Cuba was amazing, I bet. And snowshoeing is probably something I'll never get to do because Texas, but that sounds like a great way to get out of the house during the long winter months. I've always wondered what I'd do, and that's probably it!

    1. Getting out of the house when I can in the winter is important to me. Snowshoeing is so fun and not as scary as skiing.

  3. I have been following at home :) So I know what's up. Oooh ahhhh ribfest and red wine. Oooh ahhh. Yes, it doesn't take much for me.

  4. The Lemon Chicken Stew looks delish.

    The Halifax Library looks amazing.

    Thanks for sharing today.

  5. I'm so impressed you got to go to Cuba! That sounds amazing.

    1. It was so beautiful! And the people are very nice too.

  6. I think one of my favorite parts of 2015 was going to New York. I'd love to go to Cuba sometime!

  7. OOh Cuba - sounds like trip of a lifetime! I'm trying snowshoeing this year. I moved to the mid-west and so if winter is going to happen for many months - I have to find something I like doing outside!

  8. It always makes me feel happier to think about favorite memories.

  9. Woohoo, red wine! Becoming a wine drinker was one of the nicest things I ever did for myself. Now red wine in the evening is such a treat. (White wine too! Or gin!) And it's a good drink for if you're watching TV with friends and playing a drinking game. You can take a drink plenty of times during the show without getting actually drunk.

  10. I think red wine is one of those 'aging' things. All the drinks get darker as you age - red wine, dark rum, etc.
Where did you get your snowshoes? I need to start moving more/some.
