It's another slow reading week for me. I don't know what's going on there. I've been busy, yes, but also I can't seem to fall into a book the way I once did. I've certainly started enough books this week though. I picked up Lady Chatterley's Lover for my book club and started listening to Entwined on audio. I'm still chipping away at Roughing It in the Bush.
It's not just reading but writing as well. It's been difficult to write reviews or posts. I'm making excuses not to. Even writing comments. I'm reading posts from other bloggers but can't think of a darned thing to write. So if you write a great post, know I'm reading it but not commenting, ok? Maybe I should just watch TV for awhile and hope this mood goes away. I need a kick in the butt. Or just keep focused on one thing at a time.
Maybe my lack of concentration has to do with the new acquisition at my house: a Cuisinart Keurig coffee maker. I'm going through those K-cups like nobody's business.
Before I go, you have to watch this YouTube video from Ron Charles.
The video is priceless --
ReplyDeleteI get like that a lot, where I just don't feel like I have anything I can say in a comment. Sometimes I have so much to say, and sometimes I just end up reading everything with no comments. It happens. :/
ReplyDeleteI loved Whitney Houston back in my youth. My first two cassettes, around 8-10 years old, were one of hers and one of Madonna's, which makes me laugh. My sister and I used to act out some of her music videos. :D I was sad to hear the news yesterday even though I never followed her past that first cassette.
I bought Whitney's first album on cassette as a grading day present. My tastes changed a lot since then.
DeleteEh, my post wasn't that great...but thanks for commenting. It's easy to get distracted...
ReplyDelete...ooh, bunny...
...so I know what you mean. But seriously, I think it's normal to give yourself a blogging break (even if it's just from comments) and there's nothing wrong with you if you do. Are you being paid for this? Um, no? Then go with the flow, even when it's a trickle.
Right, I need to keep that in mind.
DeleteFun video, so just swipe some of his sh*t comments and there you go again! Then you could be the hack.
ReplyDelete:D
Also meant to say that I tried re-reading Lady Chatterley's Lover last fall and found it tedious and tiring: http://bookbuddies3.blogspot.com/2011/10/bonnie-and-shirley-lcl-is-tedious-and.html
ReplyDeleteSo far I'm doing okay with it.
DeleteI love the video and I love my Keurig! Have you tried the Chai Latte? Yummy!
ReplyDeleteI haven't found that flavour yet. I'll keep an eye out.
DeleteLove the video! Sooooo poignant. But I think my favorite is when he's in front of the TV with Dawson's Creek video. Ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the commenting--sometimes it just feels exhausting to try to think of something. Usually I end up just taking a week break (in which I feel overwhelmed with guilt) and try to jump back in later.
Happy Sunday!
He's the voice of a generation... ha!
DeleteProbably one of very few that don't drink coffee but the Keurig looks so awesome...that IF I did, I would def get one. Enjoy it! Also not emotional over Whitney...always so surprised that those who have talent, money, opportunity mostly seem to screw it up. Not understanding them at all. :-)
ReplyDeleteBy all appearances she had so much but something was missing somewhere.
DeleteThanks for that video! Terrific! Wildly imaginative! I cannot stop LOLing now.
ReplyDeleteI didn't even know that Whitney Houston had died until I read your post. You had breaking news!
ReplyDeleteFor once I'm ahead of things!
Delete"I can't seem to fall into a book the way I once did."
ReplyDeleteI hear ya. I blame it on the weather. I like to read outside, but when it's cold out I stay in where there are too many distractions. It makes it difficult to concentrate and sink into a book.
Maybe that's what it is.
DeleteThat video is priceless.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was so busy earlier in the month, I let reading go and it was hard to get back into it. I never thought it would be, given that I adore reading and have so many great books to get to, but I could not get back into it. It's only this past weekend that the reading mojo began to appear again.
That's my fear, but I think it's just a phase I'm going through and things will sort itself out soon.
DeleteKeurig cups have changed my life.
