RIP V: It Begins!

Wahoo! I look forward to Carl (Stainless Steel Droppings) hosting the RIP Challenge every year. I'm a Halloween'er! I'm doing Peril the First again since I save books for the challenge all year. I have lots of books to choose from so here is my pool.

  • Dracula (graphic novel)
  • Dracula the Undead by Dacre Stoker*
  • Bitten by Kelly Armstrong
  • Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen & Seth Grahame-Smith
  • The Bleeding Dusk by Colleen Gleason
  • Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
  • Tales of Men and Ghosts by Edith Wharton (short stories)
  • Witchcraft: Tales, Beliefs and Superstitions from the Maritimes by Clary Croft**

What's on your list?

*Some people really hated Dracula the Undead. I'm a bit scared.
**Hasn't been released yet. I hope I can get it. I really want it!

And just for fun: Ghosts and Ghostbusters at the New York Public Library.

  1. As I told Michelle, I may have to join you in spirit. I can make a rather long list myself. Have fun!

  2. Just fyi, I gave you an award!

  3. I wanted to read Dracula the Undead this year but I guess it will have to wait until next year because I don't have a copy (and I'm reading from my shelves).

    Great choices! Love this challenge!

  4. Wow...what an eclectic list! Hope you enjoy them all!

  5. Always love seeing Colleen's vampire novels on people's lists. I enjoyed them so much. They were outside of my normal genre of reading but I really connected with them.

Thanks so much for joining in yet again. I too am a Halloween'r and consider you a kindred spirit in that regard. Love that time of year.

  6. The Woman in White (and The Moonstone) was one of my favourite reads for the challenge last year. Enjoy :D

  7. I love the RIP challenge! From your list, I really enjoyed both The Woman in White and Murder on the Orient Express.

  8. Yay! I love seeing everyone's choices. I'm curious about Dracula the Undead as well because of bad reviews. I can't wait to hear what you think.

  9. Oh man! I forgot about Dracula: The Undead!! You people keep adding more stuff to books I want to read :p Great list there :)

  10. I love your list! I'm glad to hear you added Murder on the Orient Express to it. :D

  11. ohh! The Woman in White is quite good! I hope you enjoy it if you get to read it.

gosh I have Murder on the Orient Express and probably should add that to my list! sheesh.

  12. Excellent choices! I see several that are on my hopeful list as well.

  13. What a great list!
I'm really going to enjoy this challenge.
I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say about the Dacre Stoker book...I've heard wildly mixed things

  14. Great list! P&P&Z got a lot of mixed reviews, but I thought it was funny and a little clever. Plenty of blood and gore too. Thanks also for the video - I love Improv Everywhere. Happy reading!

  15. Yay for Kelley Armstrong on your list! I have read three books by her lately and really liked them all! I am so happy you are going to be giving her a try!
