Novella Challenge Picks

I finally decided on my picks for the Novella Challenge. If you don't remember, the rules are read 6 novellas (100-250 pgs) between April and September 2008.

  1. Lesley Castle: Jane Austen
  2. Stardust: Neil Gaiman
  3. Fahrenheit 451: Ray Bradbury
  4. Breakfast at Tiffany's: Truman Capote
  5. The Lifted Veil: George Eliot
  6. Summer: Edith Wharton
I've been looking forward to reading these for awhile and now I have the perfect reason to take them off the TBR list.

  1. I loved Edith Wharton's Summer. Enjoy!

(Note: My copy is actually 290 pages long, which seems more like a full-length novel, but maybe the print is larger.)

  2. I got halfway through Farenheit 451 and just......stopped. Got to finish it one of these days.

Nice list for your challenge! I'll be looking forward to your reviews of them.

  3. I was so tempted to join this one but I think I'm on challenge overload. You've got some got some books on there that I've been meaning to read so will look forward to your reviews!

  4. Summer was really good -- Edith Wharton really kicks literary butt. I should read more of her this year.

  5. Rob- Summer seems to pop up in her novella collections. My library copy is 216 pages. Glad you liked it. We seem to have similar tastes so hopefully I will too.

Carrie- I'm reading it Fahrenheit 451 will a group so I should get through it.

Iliana- Yeah, I need another challenge like a hole in the head but I couldn't help myself.

Bybee- I really enjoyed House of Mirth. Glad you liked Summer.

  6. Great list! I really enjoyed Fahrenheit 451 (and perhaps saw something about a movie with Tom Hanks?? Although that pesky writer's strike may have changed that).
