March1: Booking Through Thursday

Booking Through Thursday

How many books would you say you read in an average month?
In a year?
Over the last five years?
The last 10?

Don't forget to leave a link to your actual response in the comments--or if you prefer, leave your answers in the comments themselves!

Lately, it's been about 2-3 a month.
Well, I didn't count them last year, but probably around 30.
Now in the last five years, I had an infant so I had a reading slump for a while. It's probably around 100.
I read a lot more before I had a baby. I was probably reading 5 a month then. Lordy, I'm not good with math! Maybe 400?
There were a lot of 'probably's' in there. LOL! More than likely, I'm underestimating, but oh well. I have this blog now to keep track.

Happy March 1st! Spring is almost here! Hurray!

  1. An impressive total! My reading has definitly slacked off this year. Time to get cozy with a book!

  2. Hi again: I saw your request of how to link. I don't know if this is the most efficient way to do it or not, but this is how I do it:

open a new post as if you were going to blog

in the COMPOSE window type what it is you would like to say (like HERE IS MINE or something)

    select all the text

while the text is selected, click the LINK button

enter the link to your blog (some people link to the post)

    click ok

    then click on EDIT HTML

    copy all the code

paste in the comments window at Booking Through Thursday

SAVE your creation as a DRAFT so that you can always use it in the future.

Perhaps somebody will have something easier. Hope this helps.

  3. First belated congrats on having your infant 5 years ago :)

I'm not good with math either, but I think you read more than I did in those many years ago :)

Happy Booking Through Thursday! WOW you kept record since 2001! And that is alot of books reading! Very impressed. I wish I can remember mine in the last 5 and 10 years. But am sure I read lot too, but maybe more less than you.

Happy Booking Through Thursday! Here is Mine!

  4. 30 books a year is great! I have really worked at reading more, and I've read 35 and then 70 in the last two years. I am not sure I can keep up that pace, though! Reading 2-3 books a month, especially with kids, is a great achievement :)

Hope you have a wonderful Thursday, and Happy Reading!!!

  5. Thanks all! I'm sort of guess-timating at the # of books. Some months I do better than others, but that sounds about right.

  6. Hi, like you I read more before having my daughter, but well we can't really complain! LOL. Nowadays, I read while travelling to and from work (in the train)...or during lunchtime some days. Happy reading and Happy BTT!

  7. Well, I limit myself to 2 book clubs, so that's definitely 2 books read every month--unless they are big and go longer than one month, such as War and Peace last summer. But I ususally read 2 books, one for each club every month and then one or two for my own pleasure. This month I decided on the Chronicles of Narnia for my pleasure book, so my total this month will be 3. So for the year, minimum is 24, but probably more like between 36-48. I'm keeping track this year, so it will be interesting--plus keeping track makes me read more off the TBR pile.

  8. I just finished entering all my reading lists since 1996 into the computer, just so I could finally sit and play with the numbers. (Here.) I had just way too much fun with that (hence the inspiration for this BTT question).

And the links in a comment?

    Type in:
Followed by the actual http hyperlink with a "close" at the end of a ">

(In other words, you'll have the hyperlink inside of quote marks, and the whole "a href=" inside of <> brackets)

Enter the word you want to be linked, like the word "here"

Then type: to close the statement.

    Hope that helped!
