The Blog Can’t Even Handle Me Right Now

Hello, readers! Today is Wednesday but feels like a Monday since yesterday was Canada Day. This past week is setting a precedent of blog laziness. It’s a lot easier to write blog posts when the beach isn’t calling your name. Summer is so short here that every moment I’m not outside enjoying the weather feels like a waste. I also have my daughter to entertain. Her favorite question is “What are we doing today?”

This is my way of saying that things are going to slow down here on Chrisbookarama again. I’m still going to be posting but less often. I was on a roll there for a while posting way more than I had in years. I worry about falling back into a rut so I don’t want to force it. I might get inspired and write a bunch or I might just roast marshmallows all summer long. I don’t know.

I’m going to guess that lots of other bloggers are in the same boat. At least, in the Northern Hemisphere anyway. Things do tend to get quiet during the summer season.

I’m still going to be around but even if I’m not here, I’ll be posting at Project Gutenberg Project and I have a guest post for Book Bloggers International coming up this month.

And if I’m not around, I’ll be out looking at things like this…

and reading books, of course.

Happy reading!

  1. I have slowed down a bit this summer, too. Like you said, summer is just too good to be indoors! And it seems when I am indoors I am taking care of a million other things.

  2. I'm jealous of your summer view there! We'll be here when ya post. Enjoy those marshmallows!

  3. Books, marshmallows and time with the kid ... sounds like my summer plans too! Have fun and don't worry about the blog. :)

  4. I'm with you. Summer means down time for my blog. Luckily i have a few posts written already and I can refill my stores on a rainy day. Have a great summer.

  5. I've slowed right down too. It's just... I look outside and there's sunshine and loveliness, and then I look back at my laptop screen and my draft post folder and suddenly IT FEELS LIKE SUMMER HOMEWORK ALL OVER AGAIN, OKAY?! And I just go outside and ignore it, because it feels like The Right Thing To Do. Also I'm lazy in summer because HEAT. Good call, is what I'm saying. Enjoy yourself!

  6. Slowing down here too...I think I have about 10 posts planned for July and only three of them really with any substance. The rest are icing on the cake. So I'm with you, lady. : )

  7. Yep, everything's quiet in the summer -- always true. Summer's a good time for kicking back and reading all the things without worrying. And looking at lighthouses, apparently! :)
