Lazy Sunday Thoughts: Hello, 2014!

Hey there! I’m writing me first Lazy Sunday Thoughts post of the year in an attempt to be a ‘good’ blogger in 2014.

First, thanks for all your kind words on my seventh blogiversary post. You’re all awesome! Thanks for reading. I appreciate it.

My inner calendar is all messed up. I posted a review on Friday, which I never do, because I forgot it was Friday. Monday is the first day of school (fingers crossed) so hopefully I can get back on track. Holidays mess with my rouIMG_1471tine.

I am so done with winter and it’s only January. We have eleventy-billion centimeters of snow on the ground (slight exaggeration). This time last year the ground was bare and we were waiting for the snow to arrive. Because of a couple of bad storms in December, we have more than we can handle. The local government literally doesn’t know what to do with it. There was a roof collapse nearby; luckily, no people or animals were hurt. It’s a mess. I’m running on a treadmill instead of outside because it’s too dangerous to run on the streets.

Ok, enough whining about the weather.

I’m feeling confident about my reading for 2014. I’m actively seeking out books I really want to read. I’m starting with Possession as part of Trish’s readalong, even though I haven’t opened it yet. My Sunday plans include catching up.

Does anyone watch Orphan Black? Space channel had a marathon and I watched all 10 episodes in 2 days. I’m hooked! It’s a complicated plot but basically a con artist discovers that she is a clone. Actress Tatiana Maslany plays 6 characters throughout the first season. It’s crazy good! Okay, Alison might be a bit over the top, but she’s fun to watch. The other actors are excellent also. It’s sort of a Fringe-ish type show. Very dramatic but with some funny parts. And it’s Canadian! Knock me over with a feather!

Enjoy your Sunday!

  1. I adore Orphan Black! I can't wait for S2. And yeah Tatiana Maslany is beyond amazing in it.

Happy belated blogiversary, btw! My 7th is coming up too - I can't believe I'm still here all these years later.

  2. Yep, you have more snow than we do... I won't complain as much... I remember a couple winters ago we wound up shovelling our roof because it was crazy heavy. I still think that winter didn't start until January...

  5. My inner calendar is okay but my clock is off. I can't sleep and since I normally wake at 4am for work, waking at 8am is really screwing me up.

  6. Is that a real picture of snow?? And I thought we had a lot! I grew up in a place where it barely snowed. We would get off school for a dusting. Now I live in NY, where it snows quite a bit more, but the past 2 winters have been so mild, I don't know how to handle the 6 inches or so we have on the ground. Echoing Amy - stay safe and stay warm! And happy reading!

  7. Happy belated blogiversary! So weird you mentioned Orphan Black! I just had a friend from Croatia recommend it to me today! Also, I thought of my Canadian friends a couple of days ago...I was listening to NPR and they said that on that day it was colder in Canada than it was on Mars :O

  9. I enjoyed reading Possession by A. S. Byatt years ago, before I was blogging. I really liked it and hope you do, too.
