Return of Lazy Sunday Thoughts

Magic Kingdom

I’m back from my vacation at Disney World! What a trip! We had a great time, even though it was screaming hot. We were there for the Fourth of July, and you know what, Americans really like fireworks. True story! It was so crowded for the fireworks but the crowd was so well behaved. Probably because no one was drunk. There was a group of teens in front of us that were so good, I thought they were TV teens. Congrats, America!

We took a detour to Hogwarts at Universal, where the line was so long I could have watched a couple of the Harry Potter movies while waiting. I can’t even tell you what the ride was like, it was so fast and crazy. There was a dragon and Harry was there.

I rode so many rides they’ve started to blur altogether. I’m a rollercoaster lover so I did lots of those. I love when things go fast! It was a fantastic but exhausting trip. I put many kilometers on my feet. I have to say I was glad to come home where I am understood. My accent confused a lot of people.

I did some reading while on the plane so I’ll have to get some reviews up. At the moment, I’m reading Save Me the Waltz by Zelda Fitzgerald. It’s good but sometimes confusing. I think I’m going to read more of it out on my deck.

I hope you’re all enjoying July so far!

  1. Well now I think you should vlog so we can all hear your lovely accent. I have a bit of Toronto mixed in with my Texas accent so sometimes I get curious looks too.

Glad you guys had a great time! I bet the girl had a blast? It's been about 15 years since I've Been. Bet it's grown!

    1. I thought I was speaking perfectly clearly, but then I'd have to repeat myself or get the wrong thing given to me. I think part of the problem is how fast we talk on the east coast.

  2. I agree with Trish, I would like to hear that accent of yours :p I bet I would love it! Also, jealous that you got to go to Harry Potter World as I've been wanting to go since it opened, but I've never thought of the lines, so yeah, maybe not so much >_>

    1. Go in January maybe! It was so hot in that line and crazy once you get inside the building, since it is very dark inside.

  3. I'd love to hear your accent too :) People always ask me if I'm from Canada. Nope, but close...I'm in Wisconsin.

I'm hoping to take the family to Disney and Universal this winter. You were so brave to go in the summer. The heat would kill me.

  4. I've also noticed Americans like fireworks. ;) Fun fact, Disney World is the largest purchaser of fireworks in the US. Sounds like you had a great trip!

  5. We took a trip there in 2010 and it was the time of my life. My parents even went which made the vacation more amazing. I love the Wizarding World. The lines are super long but they are so worth it. Oh and I am obsessed with fireworks. The baseball stadium right by my house shoots them off on home games on Friday night and I run out onto the porch and watch them. So fun!!

  6. I love your description of the Harry Potter ride. It was fast and Harry was there. LOL.

We had a really good time at Disneyworld when we visited but it was soooo hot and there was too much to see in 8 days. We actually prefer our version of the Magic Kingdom as it's bigger and includes more "lands".
