Friday Bookish Buzz Says Get Ready for the Holidays

The Holidays are coming! Sorry, it’s true. Just got to deal with it, ok? I was reminded of it this week after all the book blogger holiday related events sign-ups were posted this week. Are you interested? Here’s a sampling: the Book Blogger Holiday Card Exchange, Virtual Advent Calendar, Holiday Swap, and the Meaningful Gift Idea Exchange.

*Okay, this headline is misleading. It implies 50 Shades of Grey is causing this couple to divorce but sounds like a lot more going on.

*A Guardian blogger takes on reading self-published books to find the best.

*Always check your used books for $20000.

*Um, ebook reading isn’t reading? Wha?

*Remember The Babysitter’s Club? Now you can read them as ebooks.

*Gillian Flynn is one Busy Girl.

*Wow, World War II themed art created from books.

*Etsy Love: Very interesting Beloved Book Pendant from Neverland Jewelry.

Have a great weekend!

  1. All I can do is point and laugh at the "E-reading isn’t reading" guy.

  2. Flynn has been busy, hasn't she? And I didn't love Gone Girl. I have to read her other books to give her a fair shake though.

  3. Oh, I will have to add the Holiday Card Exchange to the sidebar at Virtual Advent. Thanks for pointing it out! It is hard to keep track of everything...

  4. The comments on that e-reading article were hilarious...I love how everyone pointed out the irony that most of us read it on some sort of digital device.
Dude's got his knickers in a twist over nothing.

  5. That little book pendant is adorable! I love it! And thanks for the Christmas reminder of events online, I was wondering when the Virtual Tour sign-up was ready.

  6. I liked the article on self-pubs, even if the comments turned into a self-promo fest. $20,000 in a book, amazing!
