Friday Bookish Buzz Keeps Out of Trouble

Happy Weekend, everybody! What are your plans? Nothing that will get you “fwamed,” I hope. Dewey’s Readathon is this weekend and I’m not sure if I’m going to join in. The last couple of times I participated but didn’t really feel the way I used to about it. I’m not sure why. I’ll make up my mind sometime today.

*Canada Reads goes regional.

*Amazon starts Author Ranking, whatever that means.

*All your musical references in literature in one place.

*Put a Poe On It. Edgar Allan Poe’s face on everything. It’s funny and disturbing.

*I can’t even….One Direction fan fiction for $1 million dollars.

*Niche bookstore, Toronto Women’s Bookstore, to close.

*Mo Yan wins Nobel. Hopefully it will get him Mo Money (sorry, had to go there).

*Etsy Love: I love the simple mix of gray and yellow in this print, a quote from CS Lewis, from What Katie Does.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I'm still on the fence about the Readathon, too. I love it but... this is one of the last weekends that it will be warm enough to go outside and do stuff without being bundled up like a marshmallow. I just can't bring myself to stay inside all day and it's not warm enough to read outside.

  2. I hope you'll drop in and see us! Heather and I are all fired up!

  3. I read how Mo Yan's books have only just been published for Kindle, so your thoughts may be granted, so to speak, but only just!
