Lazy Sunday Thoughts: Less Thinky Thoughts

Hellllllllllo all! How are we today? What have you been reading? I’ve been in the middle of eleventy-hundred books since forever. I can’t get anything finished. That makes me not want to talk about books. So I’m going to talk about everything else instead.

New TV is starting! Yay! This makes me happy. Revenge will be back September 30. I can’t wait to see what Emily has planned for those who’ve wronged her father this season. I watched the first couple of episodes of Go On staring Matthew Perry this week and loved them. I have a dilemma though since my favorite show Happy Endings is on at the same time. I guess I’ll be DVR’ing something. And I don’t care what anyone says, I’m looking forward to Elementary.

Speaking of TV, am I the only one who loves characters who are not the focus of the story. Like for example, Nolan on Revenge. If anything happened to Nolan, I would never watch that show again.

My reaction if Nolan died.

Over on Don’t Trust the B- in Apartment 23, I love Mark the coffee shop guy. He is funny and adorbs. (Also, though I know it isn’t real, I wish James and Chloe were actual IRL friends.) So, basically I want a show of all my favorite secondary characters just doing what they do when the main characters aren’t around. I would watch that. I might be the only person watching it but I really don’t care.

Moving on… a new Wuthering Heights is being released sometime soon and I’m sure I’ll have to wait until it’s out on DVD. I waited and waited for Jane Eyre to come to the theatres here. Never happened. I told my husband I want to start my own theatre for movies I want to see. He said I’d need to charge $500 per person to break even. Some of the ones I’d like to see are artsy-fartsy. Not that I’m a snob. I could watch Bridesmaids over and over.

Also, I have an urge to watch Mean Girls again. I’ll have to dig that up from somewhere. We really need to make That’s so fetch a thing.

So, what shows or movies are you looking forward to seeing? Anything I should know about?

  1. I think the only thing I am looking forward to is Once Upon a Time. There are other shows that sound good, but just haven't got into them recently... Instead I am watching old episodes of Buffy. Finally!

  2. This whole post was like reading something in a foreign language. That's how out of it I am when it comes to tv shows!

  3. I am so psyched for the new season! I've got my DVR all set. I can't wait for the new Andre Braugher - Last Resort. I'm going to give Revolution a chance. Looking forward to Connie Britton in Nashville. Can't resist Elementary. And then my old friends - Castle, NCIS, The Middle, Modern Family, Person of Interest, Blue Bloods, Touch, and Grey's. And the PBS show - Wallander, which has begun. Ah, will there be time for anything else but tv?? :<)

  4. I am very not-embarrassed about the fact that I'm so excited about Vampire Diaries, even though I didn't love last season. Also Supernatural.

  6. We should start a movie club ;) Bridesmaids was such a pleasant surprise (I'm no good with movies like that usually). I love Mean Girls. And like you I waited forever for Jane Eyre to come to the cinemas here only to find it never did. I was more desperate for Jane Eyre than Wuthering Heights though. BUt it looks like the new production might be really interesting.

    1. I didn't know if I was going to like Bridesmaids either. I didn't see it right away because of that. I thought it was hilarious!

  9. I love Nolan so hard! So hard. He's the only reason I keep watching that show.

There aren't a lot of new shows I'm looking forward to. Are you going to watch Revolution? I think I have to because it looks so dumb it might actually be genius.

    1. Ever time I see ads for Revolution, I think it looks so stupid. A month from now I'll be all, "Omg, Revolution!" I do that all the time.

  10. My daughter got me so hooked on Revenge last year - I can't wait for it to start up again! And I agree, Nolan rocks. :) I'm also looking forward to Once Upon a Time, Castle, and Grey's Anatomy.

  11. Where did that one animation of Jennifer L. come from? I cracked up over it.

I don't watch too much TV really and what I do watch tends to be reality based:

Hoarders (love the craziness of it)

X Factor (love the 1000 faces of Britney)

The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Training Camp (really interesting to watch. Good pointers for job interviews, etc. No really.)

Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations (travel and food, need I say more?)

Love it, or List it? (real estate and remodeling)

Property Brothers (fixing up a house to make it your dream home)

Oh, and then when I am blue I veg out while watching the Food Channel (Barefoot Contessa, Giada).
