Friday Bookish Buzz: September Buzzing Out

So, most of the book news around the web is about The Casual Vacancy. I’m not even going to link to anything because there is just sooooo much. My husband said he saw stacks of the books at the grocery store yesterday. Crazy.

*China says no to Japanese books. What the what?

*Penguin wants their money back.

*Doogie Howser to write his memoirs. (He’ll always be Doogie to me!)

*Publishers and libraries start a war of words.

*Morrissey, Bookstore Hero.

*If you can’t get enough of The Hobbit, here’s a poster for you.

*Etsy Love: Cute and different, two sided “Can’t I’m Booked” pendant from Arts Vandalay.

Anyway, I must Bloggiesta. Maybe you are too?

I’ll leave you with Bad Lip Reading does The Hunger Games. Scooby-Doo? Warning: Don’t drink anything while watching this.

  1. I'll be laughing about the cat photo for a long time. Love that!

And the Hunger Games Bad lip reading - HILARIOUS. "He's not a real cat"

  2. I admit I broke down and went to the bookstore to buy The Casual Vacancy(CasVac, as I've taken to calling it) yesterday. I walked RIGHT PAST the display with all the books! Duh. And then when I asked the clerk if they had it, he had no idea what I was even talking about. I was like, "Have I been living in an alternate universe? Is it only being released in the UK?" :p

  3. "Whose father's on crack?" *snort* Peeta got all the good lines this time.
