Friday Bookish Buzz: Buzzing Fall In

That cat reminded me of a review of Naomi Wolf’s new book about her lady parts.

*Speaking of… iTunes doesn’t like Vaginas.

*And let’s continue this theme: Writers in underpants.

*The Estella Society will co-host Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon.

*I’m not a fan of the title of the article but the infographic is cool.

*Redrum! Redrum! The Shining gets a sequel.

*People of Walmart, no Kindles for you.

*Make your own tiny books.

*It’s the bee’s knees! The Great Gatsby is coming to theatres May 10, 2013.

*Etsy Love: A book turns into a pumpkin and doesn’t turn back into a book at midnight, by Hi Butterfly.

And the funniest book trailer I’ve seen in a long time.

So that’s it for this week. Have any big plans for the weekend? I think me and the fam will have to stick close to home for a little while. I wanted to go to Word On the Street but it’s a long drive. I really wish I was closer to things.

  1. Just wanted to pop in and say that I love your bookish buzz posts so much. And to say that I am still very upset that they pushed back the release of The Great Gatsby because they wanted to work on it in 3D. Grrrr.

    1. I really don't know why I needs to be in 3D anyway. It just seems weird.

    2. No 3D!! It's unnecessary. Only because I can't see it and resent the upcharge.

  4. I'm going to the pumpkin patch and corn maze with my sister, niece, and nephew. Very country, I know.

And I third being annoyed by The Great Gatsby push back. I'm not going to see it in 3D either.

  5. TGG doesn't need to be in 3-D. I pout, but then I think about Jay Gatsby's shirts flying out of the wardrobe towards me in the audience. Then I pout again because May 13 is too far into the future.

That guy did Penny Marshall to a T! Very funny!

  6. Seriously? 3D Jay Gatsby? I don't think so. The obsession with 3D is getting out of hand. Interesting article about iTunes and Vagina. Definitely a double standard IMO. I hope you enjoyed a quiet weekend with the family. I hope we can do the same next weekend!

  7. I'm so excited that Uncle Steve is writing a sequel to The Shining! A little be afraid that Danny Torrence won't be quite so special, though very curious how he's turned out. I most definitely will be getting it! Need to read The Shining again too!

Your bookish posts are so much fun :-)
