Friday Bookish Buzz: Let Your Mind Wander

funny cat pictures - I let my mind wander.

That is the perfect lolcat for me this week. I’m wondering when my mind will come back to me, if it ever does.

*Edith Wharton in Vogue magazine, sort of.

*What makes a good book cover?

*Wow, people really didn’t like Lauren Conrad cutting up Lemony Snicket books for her Crafty Creations.

*Hachette gets in authors’ faces about DRM.

*Harry Harrison died this week.

*Etsy Love: Pretty Jane Austen quote poster from Chatty Nora.

That’s all I have this week. Have a good one!

  1. I didn't get to see the book into bookshelf video since it has been removed, but I like the idea. I love books, both to read them and as objects, but I know that almost all of them will eventually end up pulped for recycling or worse as landfill.

Much better to make time into something useful or beautiful, in my opinion.

    1. I've made crafts with books before, so I don't get it either. I think it was more the Conrad haters than book lovers.

  2. Dear techdirt...what the bloody hell is DRM?? I hate it when articles don't define acronyms (for those of us with hole-y minds, as opposed to wandering minds), and you keep clicking in the hope that you will find an answer, but you never do. Grrr.

    1. DRM is the licensing stuff they put on digital books (and music)to keep you from copying it. It also keeps you from moving your legally bought material to whatever device you want to- like a new computer. It's the devil.

  4. That poster perfectly describes my cat who lives in perpetual fear of murderers while being big, brave, and tough at the same time.

  5. Lauren Conrad isn't all bad; she's reading Gone Girl. She should get props for that.
