Topical kitty is topical. There is such a fascination with Fifty Shades of Grey. It keeps popping up in the news. This week is no exception (see below). And still I have no desire to read it. This and more in the news this week.
*Jian Ghomeshi interviews E.L. James.
*But not everyone is a fan: 50 Shades pulled from some American libraries. (I thought I found an article that didn’t use the term “mommy p0rn” but I was wrong.)
*John Updike’s house will be an by-appointment-only museum.
*Harry Potter Goes to Amazon. The series is added to the Kindle Lending Library.
*Like infographics? Here’s one of the 10 Most Read Books.
*A fictional character can change your behaviour. (I think it’s called empathy.)
*Now you can get your James Joyce on!
*Etsy Love: So cute! Add a book loving bunny to all your To-do notes with this mini-notepad from Sugar Cookie.
Have a great weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all you Moms out there!
LOL oh my gosh. The buzz about Fifty Shades of Grey is obnoxious, gah! But maybe it's just because I'm sick of Twilight and all that it includes! LOOOOOOVE your image though, LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat linky roundup. And that cat pic is to die for!
ReplyDeletehm, I am not seeing the kitty picture. I wonder if something needs to be updated on my blog... They are talking about Fifty Shades of Grey everywhere I turn. Even the guy knows what it is and he doesn't pay much attention to books.
ReplyDeleteNever mind. Picture loaded when I commented. Cute. :)
DeleteThat Guardian article about the effect of fictional characters on behavior is fascinating! I know that when I read an intense book from the point of view of a mentally/emotionally unstable person, I always feel a bit more unbalanced temporarily, especially if I've been reading for hours. Nothing scary, of course, just like I'm more likely to pick a fight or get emotional. It's strange.
ReplyDeleteLove the kitty pic! I saw that on FB, yesterday. So cute. I'm not the slightest bit interested in Fifty Shades of Grey, either. I do love the video of Ellen Degeneres reading portions of it.
