Friday Bookish Buzz: False Spring

funny cat pictures - Ai lubs yu.

Those are some funky shoes and pants! The last few days have been heavenly- sunny and warm. We broke a bunch of records for March. Now it seems March has returned to normal with cool temps again. Sigh. Spring is such a tease.

While I was frolicking in the sun, the book world has been busy.

*"Special" delivery for St Martin's Press.

*Very interesting! A literary map of Canada from 1936.

*I guess one film version of 1984 wasn't enough.

*The shortlist for the Atlantic Book Awards.

*The Hobbit pub is saved! Everyone in the Shire rejoiced!

*Who will win the CanLit Hunger Games? You get to vote for your favorite Tribute.

*Toni Morrison says her life isn't interesting enough for a memoir. Doubtful.

*Movie reviewer sees the satire in The Hunger Games.

*Get ready! Reader sign up for 24-Hour Readathon on April 21st.

*Etsy Love: There is a lot of Hunger Games inspired items on Etsy, but I would wear these earrings if I was going to see it. Katniss and Peeta earrings from Pretty Little Charms UK.

Finally a little fun with B*tches in Bookstores.

  1. I tried to watch the older version of 1984 and couldn't really get into it. I haven't read the book, tho!

  2. The pub is saved! As if Fry needed to do anything else to make himself awesome. I'm so excited for the read-a-thon too!

  3. I love that map of Canada! You know the first thing I did was to check out PEI (AKA Anne's Land). :)

  4. I'd go see 1984 at the theaters. Not that I know anyone who'd go with me, though.
