This Sunday is Father's Day, so Happy Father's Day to all you Dads out there! Any big plans? This weekend also marks my 12th anniversary to my wonderful hubby. Maybe we'll go to a movie or something. Exciting, huh? Last weekend was kind of crazy and now my man has a bad cold so I'm thinking we should keep it low key. We'll see.
So what is new in the book world this week?
*Makes you wonder if politicians ever think before they speak: Australian Senator makes remarks about the book industry.
*Tom Hanks to produce Gaiman's American Gods for TV.
*What the heck is Pottermore?
*In time for Father's Day, a look at the Dads of Jane Austen.
*A new Canadian book community, where it " makes it easier to find your next great Canadian read."
*Go the F to Sleep debuts at #1. And you can hear Samuel L Jackson read it to you.
*With all the bookstore closings, here's some good news: LA used bookstore success!
*Etsy Love: There are so many cute book related items on The Extent of Silence's shop but Beneath the Old Apple Tree might be my favorite.
Finally, here's a Britney Spears parody with a Hunger Games theme. That girl sure can scarf down a squirrel!
Have a delicious weekend!
