That cat would be disappointed here right now. The spring birds haven't arrived yet. I always get excited when I see the first robin. Haven't seen one yet. We need this snow to disappear and then we can think spring. It's a beautiful day today though. I must get out and enjoy it.
So what is happening in the book world today?
*Harper Collins vs The Library: the Protest.
*Justine Larbalestier talks about the rumoured YA mafia and why you don't have to worry about it. (Maureen Johnson also had an excellent discussion about it on Twitter yesterday: hashtag #YAmafia.)
*The Observer looks at the 10 best neglected classics. Do you agree?
*Looking for love? Try the library.
*Cute! A Daddy & Daughter duo trying to break into publishing.
*A lot of young actresses vying for Hunger Games Katniss role. That's a big part.
*Authors tells The Guardian readers what books they'd like to give or receive for World Book Night.
*To celebrate Dr Seuss's birthday and Read Across America, two first ladies read to some kids.
*The new Water for Elephants trailer. It looks really good!
*Etsy Love: A very interesting way to create something from an old book, paperflowers from Dragonflies' Shop. Amazing but slightly upsetting to this book lover. (Wish I knew what book it was.)
Have a good one!

Yes! Bring on the spring!! We also need some ice to melt. We went out looking for salt last night and the stores are sold out and won't be getting anymore!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited by the new Water for Elephants trailer! After the new scenes, I'm cautiously optimistic that Robert Pattinson actually has a Jacob Jankowski inside. :)
ReplyDeleteHard to agree or disagree on those neglected classics, because, well, they're neglected aren't they. I've not heard of any of the books and only 2 of the authors. And wow, does Olivia Manning ever look like Kristen Schall!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of any of the neglected books,I guess I'm in the same boat with lots of other readers, that's why they are neglected. Do I smell challenge anyone?
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteFab links, I'm going to take a look around. Especially at the neglected classics.
