Friday Bookish Buzz: Notes from the Couch

funny pictures - I love you, couch. You understand me.

I have days like that. Several of them this week. I lost my motivation and didn't want to accomplish anything. Everything seemed like a bad idea. February is like that. We have more snow forecast for the weekend (oh joy) so the couch won't be lonely.

There were a few interesting stories this week.

*Borders is closing down in the States.

*"The Help" author Kathryn Stockett sued by family's maid.

*Wow! A gown made from Golden Books.

*Martin Amis manages to piss people off.

*Margaret Atwood looks at new ebook technology and wonders who will pay for her sandwich.

*Etsy Love: A very pretty bookish charm bracelet from A Likely Story.

Have a good one!

  1. Martin, seriously? What a silly comment he makes - yet again!

  2. Catching up on blogs this morning and it seems many people are in that rut. Maybe it's the weather.

Glad the Borders right by my house will stay open (for now). Wahoo!! It's where I buy all my non-used books.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. February in Central Pennsylvania can usually be summed up in one word: gray! So I know how you feel. The good news is that spring is around the corner :)

  4. Yes, the slumpies are going around. And, you don't even have to be in snow territory.

I'm fortunate that my Borders is staying open, too (like Trish!). We only have one in the entire state of Mississippi and I love it. I buy most of my books there.

  5. Oh I love my couch too. It understands me, as do my favourite books. The 'stresseder' I get the more I sit on my understanding couch and read understanding books! Who needs counselling?!
