Friday Bookish Buzz: Disconnected Edition

funny pictures-The voices in my head might not be real...

I don't know what it is, if it's the time change or what, but I feel out of it. I can't sit still yet I don't know what to do with myself. I have ideas for blog posts but I don't want to write them. Maybe it's pre-holiday ants in the pants. I don't know. Whatever it is, it's getting on my nerves and making me cranky. Hopefully it's just a bad day (or week). Ever feel that way or is it just me?

Anyway let's see what making everyone crazy this week.

*Giller prize winner is first time novelist Johanna Skibsrud for The Sentimentalists.

*And Gaspereau Press makes news for refusing to compromise on The Sentimentalists.

*Amazon causes a kerfuffle over self-published ebook.

*People have really overdue library books in Australia too.

*Martha Stewart book blogger? Books I'm Reading starts on November 16.

*Well-Mannered Frivolity hosts The Gothic Reading Challenge.

*Book Blogger Holiday Swap sign ups continue.

*Etsy Love: Very pretty print Paige Reads Madame Bovary and Library Ladies from Janet Hill Studio.

Finally, here's a video explanation to why it takes Gaspereau Press so long to get their books out there.

Have a great weekend!

  1. I did try to get The Sentimentalist as an ebook after clicking on one of your stories, but it doesn't seem to be available in that format either. You have to admire Gaspereau for sticking to their values, but it must be crazy making for the author.
I discovered your blog on twitter. It was the blue Atlantic that caught my eye. I spend summers on the grey Fundy shore.

  2. Hi Sheila! Some days it's bluer than others. ;) I wonder if Kobo is having issues because it's such a big seller right now.
