November is the cruelest month. I don'tcare what anyone says. All the leaves are gone, the days are short, the weather is annoying. It's a cranky making month. But it never lasts long. There's too much to do. I've taken a big bite out of my Christmas shopping this week. The stores are getting busy already. I've done more online shopping this year than others as well. I'd just like to enjoy December without having to deal with all that craziness.
*Douglas & McIntyre will publish paperback copies of The Sentimentalists while Gaspereau keeps doing things the old fashioned way.
*Couple arrested for theft of rare Harry Potter book.
*Patti Smith wins US National Book Award.
*Watch for 2010 Virtual Advent Tour coming next month. My day is December 18.
*If I met you before but can't remember you, it's because I read too much. (I really can't remember faces.)
*Twitter Power! #FridayReads makes news in Shelf Awareness.
*Margaret Atwood, whose birthday was yesterday, gives very short answers to The Questionless Books Interview (looks a lot like a meme to me).
*Plan on doing a world tour of bookstores? Lonely Planet lists the Top 10.
*And in celebration of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: How to Speak American by the Harry Potter kids.
*Etsy Love: Pretty Enchanted Woodland Owl locket from The Enchanted Locket.
Have a great weekend everyone!

That picture is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Margaret Atwood's interview answers of very short questions. Wouldn't it be fun to have dinner with her?
Personally I think February is the cruelest month. That or March; maybe it's a tie.
ReplyDeleteoh my gosh that's the cutest picture ever!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMarch is the cruelest month, IMO. Nothing good ever happens for me during that month. November is all about the anticipation of the holidays. And I can still have out all of my fall decorations.
ReplyDeleteOMG that picture is so funny! Now that I'm living in south TX, November has been disconcertingly warm, but it is also overcast. When I was living in Colorado and Illinois, I thought February was the cruelest month!
