Howdy folks! It's banned book week in the US: September 25- October 2. Act accordingly, read a banned book this weekend. There is an infinite list on the ALA site if you're looking for ideas.
*On the subject of banned books, a professor professes Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson is "pornography" and causes the author to speak out.
*You can't buy this kind of publicity. Truck carrying Andrew Marr's books overturns and causes road closure.
*Word on the Street is across Canada this weekend.
*Andi aka Estella's Revenge has started a Nook lending library.
*Give me a R, give me an E, give me an A, give me a D. What's that spell? READ! Read-a-thon looking for cheerleaders.
*For anyone who cares, Shania Twain writing an autobiography.
*Etsy Love: (Via Sassymonkey) Smell nice and bookish 3 months of the year with the Literary Soap Club from HeldeCraft.
Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the shout-out for the readathon cheeleading sign-ups!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was going to Word on the Street. :(
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about Banned Books Week. It calls attention to some really great works of literature, but on the other hand, why isn't society past banning and book-burning and the like?
