Readathon: Hour 12

I've been tossing books aside at this point. Me Talk Pretty One Day wasn't doing anything for me. Right now I'm reading Somewhere A Band Is Playing by Ray Bradbury. It's kinda weird. I also listened to Oscar Wilde's The Canterville Ghost on the iTouch while folding laundry. Laundry stops for no man- or woman!

1. What are you reading right now? Somewhere a Band Is Playing by Ray Bradbury
2. How many books have you read so far? Just one full one, but parts of 3.
3. What book are you most looking forward to for the second half of the Read-a-thon? Probably Possessed
4. Did you have to make any special arrangements to free up your whole day? Not really. Just cross my fingers and hope.
5. Have you had many interruptions? How did you deal with those? With a child there are always interruptions. She's gone to bed now. There was that little power outage though!
6. What surprises you most about the Read-a-thon, so far? Nothing surprises me anymore!
7. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? Nope
8. What would you do differently, as a Reader or a Cheerleader, if you were to do this again next year? Go to a hotel with room service! Joking of course.
9. Are you getting tired yet? Not quite, but my eyes are dry.
10. Do you have any tips for other Readers or Cheerleaders, something you think is working well for you that others may not have discovered? Keep switching books if you are getting restless.

  1. You're doing a great job! I had to go do something earlier today and I was gone longer than I anticipated so I only got started at 6:30 this evening, but I'm going to stay up tonight to make up for it! Happy Reading!

  2. I hear you! I thought I'd be reading so much more, but mostly I've been twittering and snacking. I hope Possession is good!

Hope Possession is good! I'm guilty of oversnacking too. I hope this comment posts, it's my third attempt! Happy readings!

  4. I think the idea of going to a hotel with room service for a read-a-thon is perfect! I'd totally be into that! (And now I'm picturing bloggers who live near each other planning to share a room and bringing snacks to share... or maybe getting a conference room--with comfy furniture and one snack table. Does such a place exist?)

  5. Reading is fun
    Reading is great
    Hope you're able
    To stay up late!

  6. Love the hotel idea! You're doing a great job with the Read-a-thon. I had a hard time with Me Talk Pretty One Day too. I listened to it on audio, but didn't finish it. I know people rave about Sedaris, but sometimes he is hit or miss with me.

    Happy Reading!

  7. I love the hotel room idea - I could totally do a read-a-thon at the beach! It sounds like you did great.
