Last night's episode of 30 Rock had the whole staff suffering from Winter Madness. Looking at some of the links from this past week I'm convinced it's true.
Let's take a look at the high (or low) lights.
*Poor Poe. He didn't get his birthday gift from his anonymous fan this year.
*Did you know Margaret Atwood has a blog? She gives little pieces of advice like tips for writers' block. Serenity now.
*After the brouhaha over Magic Under Glass, Bloomsbury stops production.
*Speaking of brouhaha, here's where that word came from.
*King of Horror? Check. Rock Star? Check! Stephen King on a rock album.
*This is weird. Robert Munsch making tiny terrorists?
*Kindle users are maaaaaad!
*Sad. A family-owned independent bookstore in BC to close.
*This is really nice. Lakers' coach Phil Jackson gives the players books.
*Etsy Love: These are adorable bookmarks from Jolinne's Shop or this print My Sweet Escape.
Well, after this week, I can't wait to see what the next week brings. Have a great weekend.
I love that Phil Jackson gives his players books!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely can't stand Phil Jackson. And yet, I'm a little heartened to see him giving his players books. And not only the fact that he gave them books, but he picked out certain books for each player. Pretty cool. Gotta give the man props for that!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE those book marks!!
the cover...I really love it!!
ReplyDeleteit's so cute!!!!

Duthie Books closing is really sad. I remember the first time I walked into Duthies' on 4th Ave. My brother took me when I first moved here, he knew I would love it. The competition with big stores like Chapter's seem like David and Goliath. Duthie's prices were higher than Chapters, but I'm sure they had to be.
ReplyDeletegreat links this week! And love the LOLcat
ReplyDeleteTeddy- That is so sad. You must have great memories.
ReplyDeleteAnother great selection of articles!
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that kindle users have given one star ratings to other books on Amazon that aren't being released to the kindle right away. This really annoys me because their low ratings have nothing to do with the actual book.
