Here are some quick links before heading out for the weekend. Enjoy! See you on the flip side.
*Nabokov's note cards for "Laura" are up for auction.
*Unfriend is the latest Oxford Dictionary Word of the Year. Maybe spell check will stop underlining it now.
*The BBC didn't care for Blyton. I think she did okay.
*Wow, these people seriously love their bookstore.
*Oh dear, authors paying for Amazon reviews.
*Kindle invades Canada.
*Sarah Palin: The Tour.
* Opinions on New Moon. Roger Ebert: "The characters in this movie should be arrested for loitering with intent to moan." To be fair this reviewer loved it.
*Etsy Love: Just what I need! A book for my plans for global domination from Champignon's shop.
Have a great weekend!
I love that story about the French bookstore! Wish people were like that here. I've seen more than one bookstore bite the dust.
ReplyDeleteWow, I had no idea some of the reviewers on amazon have been paid. No wonder they always seem skewed to me.
ReplyDeleteI read that article about the Amazon reviewers a couple of days ago. Seriously, why even bother having them on the website? Actually, I feel kind of sorry for Amazon. They are trying to make the review service more legit. But people making money off reviews?? Dang. That's just wrong.
