For us Canadians, this is a long weekend, since Monday is Victoria Day. I hope we get some nice weather, it's raining now. I have lots of plans mostly involving yard work. I have a vegetable garden to start.

Today I'm going to keep The Buzz short. I just realized that I have 3 books to read and review in 2 weeks. All are for book tours. I don't know how I managed to overschedule. I guess I figured I had lots of time to read them. I'm sure they are great books but sometimes having a deadline means that I enjoy them less knowing I have to rush through them to get to the next. Anyone else feel like that?

Anyway what is new?

*Have you seen the ads on ABC for Flash Forward? It's a series based on a Canadian author's sci-fi novel.

*Oprah apologizes to James Frey for the "Million Little Pieces" debacle. Better late than never.

*Uh-oh. This critic, Michael Philips, didn't think much of the film Angels & Demons.

*Serial killers unite in this free story from Jack Kilborn and Blake Crouch. Sounds like scary fun.

*Sarah Palin writes her memoir.

*Stephanie Meyer wins Children's Choice Book award. And Yay! so does the Pigeon!

*Etsy Love: These buttons from Bean Forest's shop are awesome, Protagonist/Antagonist buttons (for your dual personalities) and The Library button.

The following stories were links provided by Twitter friends. Thanks Liz Burns, Joycelyn Peyton, Erin, Tasha Saecker.

*Why Goop might be good for libraries.

*Movie rights for The Forest of Hands and Teeth have been bought. Who doesn't like zombie movies?

*Judy Bloom gets some heat from Pro-Lifers.

*Stephen King gives us a list of 7 summer reads. I'm glad to see Drood on the list since I'm waiting to read that this summer.

Have a great weekend- long or otherwise!

  1. I had no idea about the Oprah apology. It is better late than never. I thought the whole thing made them both look bad.

I'm so excited for The Forest of Hands and Teeth movie! And, I haven't even read the book yet. LoL. = )

    Thanks for shout-out!

  2. Nice weather on a May 2-4 weekend would be a VERY pleasant surprise. It's not normally very nice on Victoria Day weekends - heard there's supposed to be a bit of snow in Northern Ontario one night! Have a good long weekend!!

  4. JS- It was all pretty quiet. I just happened upon the story today.

Court- I think it will be rainy for most of the weekend here. But no snow! (I hope)

    Wordlily- Thanks! I fixed it.

  5. If I have to choose between rain and snow, I am going to go with rain! It isn't actually raining here, though. It just has been cloudy all day. The rain isn't called for until Sunday, but that can always change... or be wrong!

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Love the cat picture! I totally did the same thing to myself this month. (Multiple blog tour books - and they were very long books - what was I thinking?)

    Have a great weekend!

  9. Yeah, I can't quite figure out why Tom Hanks agreed to do these movies. SO. BORING. I saw the first one, but I definitely am not going to waste my money on the second one!

  12. I could do without zombie movies, myself. Love the cat pic!

It's my heartfelt wish that nobody will buy SP's memoir. I didn't say that. I'm not political. Nope, didn't say a thing.
