Friday Bookish Buzz: Lousy Smarch Weather

March. Aw, March. A lot like February but more frustrating. Spring will spring but someone needs to tell winter. Plus, there's the Daylight Savings thing. I hate messing around with time. Why can't we just leave it instead of leaping and falling twice a year?

We'll soldier on.

*Watchmen is the big movie opening this weekend. A comparison of book vs film.

*Estella's Revenge March edition is up and the theme is a favorite of mine: Classics.

*Getting your kids to love reading. Scribbit's advice.

*Interesting. After cutting a bunch of jobs last week, Barnes & Noble buys Fictionwise, an ebook retailer.

*What?! What is "It"? I guess It's useful if you only want to read what's 'popular'.

*Canada Reads drops Mercy Among the Children: "I felt bad that I didn't like it." I think we've been there before.

*A memoir? Does the world need a Kathy Griffin memoir? One that Random House paid $2 Million for?

*Harlequin turns 60. I betcha want to read The Manatee now ;)

*You better hold on to your purse at LA's Central Library. There are more than just Book Thieves there.

*Etsy Love: A special notecard for readers from Stories Divinations.

Stay tuned for a review of Come Thou Tortoise. Have a great weekend!

  3. Oh how I HATE daylight savings!!! Just leave it alone already, it gets everyones sleep schedules all messed up. And we are expecting snow this weekend so so much for Spring.

  5. Kathy Griffin = $2 million/book
    Condi Rice = $667,000/book
    What's wrong with that equation?

  6. That was a great Watchmen review. It touched on things I missed from the movie and some of the same things I did and didn't like. Thanks for linking.
