I'm on to my other project, a crocheted sweater. The pattern is marked experienced but so far I'm enjoying it more than the simpler socks. We'll see how it goes.

Dewey's Knit-a-Long Mini Challenge Update
Pin It
I finally finished my crocheted socks about a week ago. They weren't really hard to make but I made a lot of stupid mistakes by not paying attention and had to unravel them often. I even finished a sock before I realized that I had made a major mistake in the heel. There was much cursing. In the end, I was happy to be done with them even though one is obviously bigger than the other! As for comfort...meh. I don't think I'll be making many pairs of socks.

Well, they sure look cute, anyway! I knit some socks last year and wore them about 3 times before they shrunk too much to wear.
ReplyDeleteThey look really nice! I'd love to try my hand at crochet again (been ages!) and I'd like to try socks. You inspire me.
ReplyDeleteThey look like they'd make great slippers.
ReplyDeleteI always say I'm going to try socks sometime. They are cute, but your comments don't make me want to get started! :) I'm still knitting away, but I'm just working on my felted bags!
ReplyDeleteI have fond thoughts about a pair of knitted slippers that a friend's gma made for me - but they unraveled.
ReplyDeletethese look SUPER comfy!!

ReplyDeleteI'm so impressed! The only thing I've ever made (crocheted) that was recognizable was a blanket for my son and it took me two years.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! The socks look warm and toasty. :)
ReplyDeleteI think they look really cute! I have never crocheted socks before. I tried my hand at knitting a pair of slippers back in December for an X-mas gift. I felted them and they turned out okay but not great. I did buy yarn to try out some sox though because I had so much fun with the slippers.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteAli- So far they haven't shrunk. Fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteRobin- Give it a try!
Julie- The pattern had a good rating. I just get lost easy when working in a circle.
bkclubcare- That's too bad.
Teddy- Good luck! I hope you enjoy making some.
Thanks everyone!
Despite the setbacks, they turned out good! I had the same issues when knitting a pair of socks for Christmas. It was like two steps forward and a bazillion steps back. I still haven't finished them because I'm afraid I'll drop stitches just by looking at them. LOL
