Booking Through ThursdaySuggested by Barbara H.:
A comment on someone else’s BTT question this week inspired this question:
Do you read any author’s blogs? If so, are you looking for information on their next project? On the author personally? Something else?
I'm more likely to just stumble into an author's blog than follow them. It's usually through other bloggers that I find them. I'm might stick around though if they post funny observations, the day to day living stuff or discuss recent topics in the news or in the blogosphere. If it's just about their edits or other writing stuff, probably not. All relationships need a little mystery.
Here are a few good ones off the top of my head:
First Offenders (Karen E Olson and friends)
Diana Gabaldon (though it's kind of Outlander-centric)How about you?
Very true. I'd just as soon not know too much about the authors I read. Somehow, the real person is usually a disappointment - I'd rather hang onto my illusions.
ReplyDeleteIt depends on my mood. If I am so inclined, I do visit..
ReplyDeleteAuthored, are we?!
My answer is much like yours. Happy Booking Through Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI forgot that I do go to Gabaldon's site every once in a while for news of her projects.
ReplyDeleteI found the author blogs I read by accident or by following a link too.
ReplyDeleteThis week’s question unearths the truth that I do not have many favorite authors. Most of the authors whose works I continue to re-read and explore are dead. I have favorite books. The books have to speak for themselves.
ReplyDeleteI don't usually go searching out author blogs either.
ReplyDeleteThere just is not enough time in the day... I'm like you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday.
love the typo generator button!
ReplyDeleteLove author blogs (of course I'm a little biased). Some concentrate on writing and publishing, but many talk about their lives as well.
ReplyDeleteThe Lipstick Chronicles and Jungle Red Writers are super, more like a group of women just hanging out talking to each other who just happen to be writers.
Raidergirl- I realized I hadn't used that graphic in awhile. It was going to waste.
ReplyDeleteKaren- I'll have to check that out.
Everyone seems to like Colleen Gleason. I'll have to check out her blog.
ReplyDeleteI don't subscribe to any author blogs, but I do like to pop in at Neil gaiman's site every once in awhile.
