My Challenge List

I'm so glad to see so many joining in The I Suck at Challenges Challenge. I was afraid I'd be alone in this one. A big welcome to you all- regular visitors and newbies alike!

In typical Slacker fashion, I didn't have my challenge list prepared. I'm only signing up for 3 (so far) in hopes I can complete them.

I've been participating in The 2nd Canadian Reading Challenge hosted by John at The Book Mine Set since it started. I'm sad to say I'm only 5 books in for this 13 book challenge. I better get a wiggle on. My list is here.

I just found this one: Just for the Love of It Reading Challenge hosted by Sheri of A Novel Menagerie. It has a nice relaxed feel to it but like Sheri suspect it will be hard to complete. The books on my list are ones I won, bought at the library sale and lent from my mom.
Here's my list:

The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent
The Other Queen by Phillipa Gregory
The Queen's Lady by Barbara Kyle
My Cousin Kate by Georgette Heyer
1984 by George Orwell

Finally, I'm jumping into (Other) Chris from Stuff As Dreams Are Made On Dewey's Books Reading Challenge. I'm going to do challenge #2: 5 books Dewey reviewed.

Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood
1984 George Orwell
Year of Wonders Geraldine Brooks
Stardust Neil Gaiman
The Uncommon Reader

*****Dewey's Site is down so I couldn't complete my list at this time.********

  1. Go Chris Go! I'm doing Dewey's Challenge and the TBR Challenge and that's it. I was able to include all books that I already own which is my goal this year. Good luck!

  2. Thanks for hosting your challenge. Already I feel better about the number of challenges I've been joining. To find more choices for the Dewey challenge, go to the challenge page and click on participants' lists. That's how I'm finding some of my choices.

  3. I'm just writing up my 2009 blogging goals and one is to finish my one challenge and move on. I hope Mr. Dewey hasn't totally removed Dewey's website. I'd hoped to go back there and peruse her files a bit more. Best of luck, Chris!

  5. Your idea for the I Suck at Challenges Challenge as a brilliant idea. :-) Someone who commented on my blog suggested there's a need for an avoidance of challenges challenge as well. Maybe you can add that option in if you ever do this one again. ;-)

I went back and forth about joining Sheri's challenge, but decided against it in the end. I didn't want to have to make a list of books. Talk about a cop out. :-) I figure I'm over committed anyway.

Good luck with the challenges you signed up for! It's going to be a very successful challenge year!

  8. Hi there,

I have just begun taking up reading challenges again after not having done them for years (used to join at least one previously in my old book club) so I feel like a novice. I may turn out to be a sucker though ;-)
