I hope I'm not getting sick again but I'm feeling kinda weird. Blah! Anyway let's hope it's not anything. Anyone doing anything interesting this weekend?

*How do you feel about this story? Meh?

*Nothing like a movie to increase book sales.

*Someone put a fork in him. He's done but doesn't know it: Joe the Plumber lands book deal. Why do they give everyone with 5 minutes of fame a book deal?

*Millions of dollars missing, nepotism, mismanagement. No, not the latest political scandal, but Library Dramarama.

*Much ado about Tango.

*Now for some Etsy Love. A good reminder for all of us when we just can't get through a book: Bookmark Permission Slips from This into That. And a little Austen in your pocket: Jane Austen Collage Pocket Mirror from tartx.

  1. Our son comes home for his Thanksgiving break this weekend, so I'll be hugging him and doing laundry!

  2. I hear you on the pointless book deals. On the upside, that's one book I won't have to put on the TBR! :-)

  3. This weekend I'll be watching Twilight, hosting a gathering for the big college rivalry game, and going to the high school music (Once Upon a Mattress) that my daughter is in. It sounds exhausting to me!

Don't get sick! Hang in there! :)

  5. Wow, who would want to read about Joe the Plumber? I can see the reviews, now: "Meh."

I love those permission slip bookmarks!

The library fine thing . . . I don't quite get it. My library is vicious and they don't do a good job of checking in the books, so it's not unusual to get a phone call and a letter about a book that's sitting on the shelf, having been safely returned before its due date. If you don't pay up when you lose a book, you can't check anything out. Period. It works well enough, except for that bit about harrassing people who've turned in their books. Now, I go to the desk instead of dropping off in the slot. I will not leave until I've heard the peep noise that means my book has been entered back into the system.

  6. Great links! I really like hearing about which words are being added and taken out of dictionaries. Merriam-Webster has a cool list of Fave words not in the dictionary that have been requested :)

  8. Thanks for mentioning my bookmarks! They are made for me by Jessica Spring on her letterpress. I suspect your book-mad readers will enjoy seeing my furniture made from old books at www.ThisIntoThat.com.

  9. Onion- Aw, enjoy!

Lezlie- Yes, it won't be on my list either.

    Suey- Have fun!

    Iliana- Pretty, isn't it?

Bookfool- Yeah, that's a whole lot of weird.

Joanne- It is interesting to see what's in and what's out.

    Matt- Scary huh?

    Jim- Thanks for dropping by!

And I did end up getting sick. Chills, fever, all the fun stuff. I'm all drugged up on Advil Cold and Flu.
