The Friday Bookish Buzz: One Year Later

I just looked through my archives and saw that I started The Friday Bookish Buzz about one year ago! Here's the first post of that Friday feature. I can't believe that a year has gone by so quickly!

Anyway the BBAW had me distracted this week (what did you think of that?) but here's what I rustled up:

*The Bitch is back. Bitch magazine is saved by readers.

*More classic book tinkering: The Hitchhiker's Guide gets a new author.

*The Giller Long List is announced.

*Books on demand? An Australian bookstore gets some interesting new equipment.

*The End of Publishing. There's an alarmist title.

* Etsy Love: I just received an item I bought from HomeStudio. I'm very impressed. If there's a Twilight series fan in your life, one of these pendants and Breaking Dawn would make a great Christmas gift. Or this Alice In Wonderland pendant is really sweet for your little reader.

Have a great weekend!

  4. That lolcat is darling. ITA w/it too.;)

The publishing article was interesting. Evidently the mortgage & stock industry wasn't the only one building castles in the air. Nothing is content to remain stable anymore, it all has to be returns, growth, bigger. Even books. Jeez.

  5. Happy blog anniversary! Congrats on your first year.

My younger son is a huge fan of Eoin Colfer's work so it'll be interesting to see how the new HHGTTG book turns out. We've all enjoyed them a great deal.
