Friday Bookish Buzz: Wiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

First, Happy 4th of July to my American readers! Hope it's a good one!
Second, we finally gave in bought a Wii. Wiiiiiiiiiii! It's a lot of fun. I'm trying not to let it affect my reading :)

***Book Reviewers READ THIS*** An E-bay shop is suspected of passing off book reviews from Amazon and elsewhere as it's own. Check the list for yourselves.

* I wonder how painful it is to have a whole book tattooed on your butt. Okay, how about just a sentence or two?

*Speaking of painful, Sacha Baron Cohen as Holmes?

*My latest Etsy find: these cute bookplates from Sprouthead.

*I haven't read either of these guys but I love his beard (at least, I think that's a beard).

*The Lost Book Challenge: read books that have been on the TV show Lost. I love the idea but just can't do it. Maybe you can.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Enjoy your Wii! We love ours, especially Mario Cart. And, it hasn't affected my reading. I love to play it, but I can't usually play it for long.

  2. Have fun with the Wii! We haven't tried anything more than the sports package that comes with it, but I was supposed to get Dance Dance Revolution for my birthday but it hasn't appeared yet.

I'm interested into looking at the Wii fitness thing.

  3. I'm so jealous you got a Wiiiiiiiiii. I think you have to kill someone to get one in the states. Have fun!

  4. That's so cool, enjoy!! I've been wanting a Wii for months now, I'll buy one sometime.

FYI: the link for Sacha Baron Cohen as Holmes takes me to literary tattoos -- I'm sure this is an "oops".

  5. Oops! I'll fix that. Thanks, Tammy.

  6. I keep thinking how much some of those tattoos must have hurt, especially the Molly Bloom one (right around the collarbone!) Also the lengthy ones done in very black ink -- those were repeat trips to the tattoo artist. Also, I'm a little peeved with myself for not getting something literary tattooed on my body when I did this back in 1997 -- just a blue heart -- sounds more like country music.

  7. My kids got a Wii for Christmas. I stayed away for as long as I could. In the end though, the pull was just too much. Such a fun, but addictive game! Have fun!!

Yeah...I'm with you. Borat as Holmes just doesn't do it for me!!

  8. Literatehousewife- My brother and my niece have Mario Cart. They love it too.

Raidergirl- I like tennis and bowling from Sports. We also have Wii Play and Rayman. So far I'm enjoying them all. I might ask for the Wii fitness for Christmas.

    Kristy- It's a blast!

    Nymeth- Thanks!

Bybee- I love the idea of the literary tattoos but I'm such a chicken. I don't think I could do it!

    Stephanie- It really is addictive!
I'm guessing the Cohen/Holmes movie will be a comedy ;)

  9. We just got a Wii in June, after looking since Christmas. They're really hard to come by here and the popular games are even harder to get. I haven't been able to get Mario Kart or the main one I want, Wii Fit, yet at all. I'm hoping maybe by Christmas! We've had a blast with ours, and lots of friends and family have come over to play.

Have a great weekend and Happy Reading too!
