Hey all! How was your week? Did you get any reading done? I finished Mister Pip. I'll be reviewing it soon but I just have to tell you that you should read it. Is there anything you feel compelled to tell everyone to read?

At the moment, I'm reading Dashiell Hammett's The Thin Man. I've watched the great movie with Myrna Loy and William Powell many times, but until now I had never read the book.

Just finished Victor Gischler's GO GO GIRLS OF THE APOCALYPSE. Loved this book. Wacky crazy, a bit violent, funny...The end of the civilization as we know it came nine years ago and Mortimer Tate has been living in a cave the whole time. See what happens when he finally emerges...the scary thing is, the scenario presented is all too plausible.

I tell everyone to read The Count of Monte Cristo. And, The Book Thief. And, Lottery. And, The Remains of the Day, To Kill a Mockingbird. Really, I'm quite annoying about my favorites. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've read The Thin Man and loved it. The movie is great -- definitely a must-see. Why are Rob and I not best friends? I can't figure that out. I'm loving everything I'm reading, but I don't know that any of them are books I'd say everyone must read.
Loved that clip with the humiliated British writers, if only for the accents.
And, the kitties are too cute!
