Friday Book Buzz: May 15

Hello! We made it through the week. The kid's ear seems to be cleared up (thank goodness!). Hopefully I can get some more reading done. I just got Marie-Therese: Child of Terror and am looking forward to reading it.

* Ellen Page will play Jane Eyre. Whoa! I'm of two minds on this one. First, she's a Nova Scotia girl so Wahoo! But... This is Jane Eyre. I hope she can do that accent. Still, I like this writer's take on it: So what! Anyway, good for Ellen.

*Nuala O-Faolain died. She had some interesting things to say before she went.

*The Book Carnival is up. Theme: Urban Fantasy.

*Dewey is plotting another Read-a-thon. The last one was fun. Go sign up.

*John pits Charlotte Bronte against Margaret Laurence. Who do you like?

*Speaking of Laurence (and Ellen Page), here's the trailer for The Stone Angel:

  1. I've seen that Ellen Page will play Jane Eyre, but who Mr. Rochester? I can't seem to find it (and maybe I missed that in the link you posted?).

  2. Mr R hasn't been cast yet. Who will it be?

  3. ahhh, I guess that's why I haven't seen anything. I'm not sure who I would cast...somebody dark and brooding. :)

  4. I heard this about a new Jane Eyre. I don't really see why another one is being made. The most recent version was quite good!

  5. I'm really excited about Ellen Page playing Jane Eyre! I like her alot and I think she'll do a great job. I'm also excited about Dewey's Readathon. I missed out on it last year and was hoping she'd do it again!

  6. I've never managed to make it all the way through a Nuala O-Faolain novel. Sad!
