Okay, maybe not popular demand, but a few of you said you missed The Friday Bookish Buzz. Honestly, I liked hearing that because I wondered if anyone was reading! Anyway, I'm still reeling from last night's Lost season finale. Whoa!
*Wondering what to read this summer. Some popular authors give their picks.
*I stole this from Kookie: Nerdic as a second language.
* Christine has a Giveaway of Awesomeness.
*Got some extra cash? An interesting auction may be for you.
* John has Munro vs O. Henry. Sign up for the Canadian Book Challenge (2) while you're there.
*They're really pushing e-books at us.
*Another Canadian independent bookstore bites the dust.
*For something to lift your spirits after that: I love this lady's ephemera (KMLdesigns), especially the bookmarks. Reasonably priced too.
Have a great weekend!
I missed it, too. I know I didn't say I missed it. But I did.
ReplyDeleteYay! I missed it, too. Didn't have a chance to comment about it since I've been away from the blogasphere so much lately. Definitely looking forward to the authors' pics for summer reading.
ReplyDeleteWhat a finale! I'm still mulling it over, too. Off to check out the cool links.
ReplyDeleteLove the Friday links.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I just finished CHILD 44. Fabulous book, definitely lives up to the hype. You may have seen a huge display of this book at your local B&N this month. I got mine out of the library. It's a creepy thriller set in Stalinist Russia, not for the faint of heart, but so compelling.
I completely spaced the Lost finale last night, but from what I've read about it, I'm glad I did.
ReplyDeleteI especially like the KML designs page. Thanks for bringing it to my attention, and what a clever idea for a post!
ReplyDeleteI love your Friday Bookish Buzz! I'm just a bad commenter :/ I'm still reeling from the Lost finale last night too! Wasn't it great? The Jin/Sun scene was so sad, but I swear if the actress that plays Sun doesn't win an Emmy this year then something's wrong!
ReplyDeleteI had heard about the postcard auctions because Neil Gaiman was doing one, but I hadn't seen the full list. So cool! Wish I could afford them :(
And those bookmarks are great!
I enjoyed reading the authors' recommendations for summer reading. Nelson Demille was funny, recommending his own book. And, it was quite cool to see that Philippa Gregory recommends Patricia Woods' book, since Pat is such a peach.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post! I loved it! I loved the article on Yummy Mummy's! Whew! I am glad I am not alone - I am more of a Slummy Mummy and am accepting that I can't do it all! Now I have to read the book. :) Also I have put a few books in by TBR pile from some of my favorite authors.
ReplyDeleteI may not get to your Friday posts until the next Tuesday (cuz that's how I roll), but I love them. Thank you for the summer reading list. I love seeing what writers like to read.
ReplyDeleteHey, thanks all for missing it!
ReplyDeleteKaren- Thanks for the book recommendation.
Kookie- Lol!
