My new obsession is lolcats from I can has Cheezburger. Why are these cats so funny and why the bad grammar? I don't know, but I think they are hilarious. I find the lolcat-speak contagious. I've been trying not to say, "I can has.." all day.
Isn't this pretty?

I love Esty. I can has bookmark, I mean, I like this bookmark.
Estella's Revenge! for August is up. The theme is "Revival." I really enjoyed the Simon Van Booy interview.
Submissions for The Bookworm Carnival August addition end on August 10. The theme is Surviving the Dog Days of Summer: Books That Take Your Mind off the Heat. I can't come up with anything this time around. Maybe you can.
GJM from Babbling Books told me that Ami McKay will be answering questions on the forum on August 22. And in related news, Ami is doing The Wise Women Blog Tour to promote The Birth House August 21-29. Sounds like an interesting idea.

My daughter has just discovered the TV show Ruby Gloom. It's about a little girl living in Gloomsville. One of her friends is a Raven named Poe, who likes poetry. Very cute and I think we have a Goth girl in the making. LOL!
One more thing. I just joined Lit Minds which is "a community where readers, authors, and independent booksellers can share their unique reading interests, make new friends, and enjoy stimulating conversations. LitMinds is a free service." Maybe I'll see you over there!
I've been a Litminds member for a while now. Good to see you there. They did an interview with me earlier this year if you check it up in the archives.
ReplyDeleteI love the macros as well. I think like that sometimes too; it's hilarious. It's more than cats and animals now, it gets into fandoms. I'm sure an Austen one is about to go up too.
ReplyDeleteHey Chris, I'm at LitMinds too! I'm writestuff over there...they actually did an interview with me a couple of months ago (if you search their blog for Wendy Robards you can find it :))
ReplyDeleteI love lolcats so much. Yeah, I belong to litminds, too!
ReplyDeleteYeah for the Goth Girl!! How cute is that!! The cat thing doesn't do much for me, but I joined Lit Minds a little while ago too!!
ReplyDeleteJohn & Wendy- I read the interviews. Excellent!
ReplyDeleteAthena- Austen? You're giving me ideas.
Stephanie & Dewey- Great! Hope to 'see' you there.
I love I can haz cheezeburger but the spelling drives me insane. It was explained to me that cats can't spell......but I think that's animalism. Something like that ;)
ReplyDeleteCarrie- Cats can't spell? Who knew! And I just tossed the message you didn't mean to send ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm like Carrie: I can only stand so much misspelling before I get nutty. The photos are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI love Etsy, too. Cute bookmark!
Thanks for the comment about the interview with Simon. :)
Glad you enjoyed the latest Estella! I'm reading Simon's book after I finish The Dying Animal today. I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLitminds looks intriguing! I'll certainly see ya there!
Andi
One of my husbands friends is really into the lolcats.
ReplyDeleteBookfool, that was you? I thought that pic looked familiar. Bravo! It was excellent.
ReplyDeleteFor anyone who has aspirations of someday being a writer, my writing pal just down the street, er — Highway 3 — has interviewed Ami McKay, author of The Birth House. Fascinating and informative.
