Thoughts of Springs Past

Even though it's cold and brown outside, this is the first full day of Spring. Back when I had a house, I'd plant bulbs in the Fall. Sometimes I'd forget what I'd planted which lead to nice surprises in the Spring. This season I don't have a garden. It makes me a little sad. I enjoyed going outside and watcing the little green leaves pushing themselves up through the frozen soil.

This Fall, when I'm in my new house, I'm going to start from scratch and plant lots of bulbs. It's something I'm really looking forward to.

  7. That's beautiful! I don't have much here in the way of greeneries, but my small garden looks lovely . . by the way . . . I love your quote today. You might be interested in reading the book (since it appears that you LIKE reading) "A Pillar of Iron" by Taylor Caldwell
It is historical fiction about Marcus Tullius Cicero if I'm not mistaken. It's been years since I've read it, but it is still on my shelf. Pages are yellow, but still there.

  10. I need to get some bulbs in. My problem is the gophers. They eat them as fast as I plant them!

  11. Luckily we don't have gophers, but squirrels and deer love the bulbs. Rabbits eat the tops off of the flowers. We have a dog so she helps to scare them away.
